Below, we have selected options that are specifically suitable for day visits without staying overnight, compared 2026 prices and explained how to get there by car, bus or taxi.

Mineral Pools Near Bansko
There is little point in looking for thermal pools only in Bansko itself. Most of the interesting complexes are in the nearby village of Banya, with several more options in Dobrinishte. From Bansko, both areas are easy to reach by car or taxi, while Dobrinishte can also be reached by public transport.
Pulse Therme Bansko

Pulse Therme Bansko is located in Bansko itself and is part of Grand Hotel Bansko. It has indoor and outdoor pools, a thermal area, saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis and relaxation areas.
For a day visit without staying at the hotel, two options are available in 2026: €49 for a full day and €79 including a transfer from Sofia and meals.
This is a convenient option if you want to combine mineral pools with a full spa day without leaving Bansko.

Mineral Pools in and Around Sofia
If you live in or are staying in Sofia, there is no need to travel to Bansko just for a pool. Two convenient directions are Bankya and Pancharevo.
AquaBankya

In 2026, admission costs €15 on weekdays and €20 on weekends. Children under 110 cm enter free, while children under 140 cm receive a 50% discount. A 50% discount on admission applies after 15:00.

This is a comfortable option for a short trip from Sofia: you can arrive in the morning, spend a few hours by the water and return to the city the same day.
Central Mineral Bath in Bankya

If you do not need a large outdoor pool and resort atmosphere, you can choose the Central Mineral Bath in Bankya.
The thermal area is open daily from 09:00 to 20:00. A single visit lasts 90 minutes and costs €8.
There is a pool with continuously refreshed mineral water at a temperature of 36.5-37 °C.

Pancharevo Mineral Bath

Pancharevo is 12 km from central Sofia. The local mineral water reaches the surface at a temperature of around 48 °C.
The public mineral bath has separate men’s and women’s sections, mineral water pools, family baths and jacuzzis.

In the 2026 season, admission for adults is €15 from Monday to Friday and €20 on Saturday and Sunday. Children aged 4-14 pay €10, while children under 4 enter free.

Which Pool Should You Choose?
If you want to spend as little as possible
For Bansko and Dobrinishte, start with the municipal pools. They offer a different experience from the larger spa complexes, but admission is several times cheaper.
In Sofia, the most budget-friendly option on this list is the Pancharevo Mineral Bath.
For a full spa day
Consider Pulse Therme Bansko, Hot Springs or Regnum Banya. The idea here is to spend several hours moving between pools, spa areas, saunas and relaxation areas.
If you are travelling with children
Hot Springs has a dedicated children’s area, while Regnum Banya has a separate children’s pool. Ruskovets also has a separate children’s mineral pool.
For a summer day trip from Sofia, Korali in Pancharevo is convenient: it has adult and children’s pools, a children’s playground and a restaurant.
If you do not have a car
From Bansko, the easiest public transport option is a trip to Dobrinishte. Banya is more convenient by taxi or with a transfer provided by the specific complex.
Ruskovets has its own transfer from Bansko, departing at 10:30 and 15:30, with return trips at 14:30 and 19:30.
In Sofia, Bankya is well connected to the city by bus and train, while Pancharevo is served by city transport.
If you are going after skiing in winter
Banya and Dobrinishte are particularly convenient. A warm mineral pool after a day in the mountains fits easily into a normal schedule: you do not have to travel far after skiing, and many complexes stay open into the evening.
How to Get to the Pools
From Bansko to Banya
Banya is close to Bansko, so a car is the easiest way to get there. The drive takes about 10 minutes depending on the specific complex.
A taxi from Bansko to Banya costs around €15-20.
If you are travelling as a couple or a group of three, you can split the cost between passengers.
For Ruskovets, it is even easier: the complex has its own transfer from Bansko, included in the special day spa package.
From Bansko to Dobrinishte
Buses run between the two towns. A ticket costs around €3, and the journey takes about 10-15 minutes.
There is also a railway connection on the narrow-gauge Septemvri – Dobrinishte line. If you want the journey itself to be part of the experience, this is an interesting option, but for a one-day pool visit the bus is usually more convenient.
A taxi from Bansko to Dobrinishte costs around €15-20.
From Sofia to Bankya
You do not need a car to get to Bankya. City buses run to Bankya, including routes 42, 44/46 and 47/49. The Bankya website publishes the current timetable, effective from 15 September 2026.
There is also a rail connection. Depending on the service, the journey from Sofia takes between 30 minutes and an hour, including options with a transfer.
For a specific travel date, you can also check the timetable directly in the BDZ ticketing system.
After arriving in Bankya, you can walk to the pool or mineral bath or take a local taxi.
From Sofia to Pancharevo
Pancharevo is 12 km from central Sofia. By car, the journey takes 25-40 minutes depending on where you start and current traffic.
Korali and the mineral bath are located on Samokovsko Shose near Pancharevo Lake.
If you take a taxi from central Sofia, it is reasonable to budget €12-20 one way. The final fare depends on your starting point, travel time and taxi tariff.
How to Spend a Day at the Thermal Pools
You do not have to choose between the pools and other activities. Most of these trips work best as a relaxed day without a rigid schedule.
This schedule is easy to adapt for a trip from Bansko to Banya or Dobrinishte. If you are using public transport, plan your return around the specific return service.
For a trip from Sofia to Bankya or Pancharevo, you can make the day shorter: 4-6 hours is enough, especially if the main goal is the pool rather than a full spa day.
What to Bring to the Pool
For a day trip, it is best to pack a small bag with:
- swimsuit or swim trunks;
- towel;
- rubber slippers or other footwear suitable for wet floors;
- a change of underwear;
- a bag for your wet swimsuit;
- water;
- sunscreen for outdoor pools;
- a swimming cap if required by the specific complex.
Rules are not the same everywhere. For example, Regnum Banya includes a towel in the admission price, while slippers can be bought on site for €2. A bathrobe can be rented for €5. Swimwear and other accessories are charged separately.
At Ruskovets, towels and bathrobes are not provided for day visitors, so you need to bring your own.
Some complexes have different requirements for swimwear and footwear. For a universal packing list, it is therefore best to bring your own towel and slippers even if they are available to borrow or buy at your chosen location.
